What must be visible
Keep the complete gap and enough of both adjoining panels inside the frame. Tesskat AI will identify the vehicle area and the panels.
How to take the photo
Clean the area
Remove dirt, water and anything that hides the panel edges. Avoid wiping hot or damaged paint aggressively.
Use clear, even lighting
Avoid strong reflections, deep shadows and direct glare across the gap.
Hold the phone straight
Keep the camera facing the vehicle surface rather than photographing from a sharp side angle.
Include both adjoining panels
Keep the full gap and enough surrounding bodywork visible so the AI can recognise the vehicle area.
Stand approximately 40–60 cm away
Move slightly closer only when the gap is too small to see clearly in the camera frame.
Reference scale
When measurement scale is required, use a plain reference card or the Tesskat measurement card. Never expose bank-card numbers, names or other personal information.
The AI will check the image first
If the panel area or gap cannot be identified reliably, you will be asked to retake the photo or confirm the area manually.
Your image will be used for this inspection and validated before analysis begins.
